Sodium vapour lamps have a specific amber that LED replacements cannot reproduce, and they are disappearing from every city at once. Here the lamp is rendered as it actually behaves: a slow warm-up, a hum that shows up as flicker, and a halo that spreads through humid air rather than ending at an edge.
